Verified Reviewer | Queens, New YorkDO NOT DO PERSONAL TRAINING UNDER KEELIN EICHERT!!!
I attended this gym since 2018, never had any issues with the club until I discovered management is GRADE A TRASH!!!!. Literally the WORST OF THE WORST!!
Go here if you want to be LIED TO AND/OR INSULTED, Specifically the district personal training manager Keelin Eichert. After letting my trainer know I didn't want to continue training, he told me he would handle it with management. I wasn't satisfied with the trainer or the training. I thought that was the end of it but then a month later (after no communication from the trainer or management) I get a bill for training.
Immediately I call Retro and the front desk told me to call Keelin Eichert because she manages training. I called her to no avail and left a message. I called my bank to stop authorizing payments for this service .Throughout the week I called Keelin and left more messages. I left messages with the front desk for them to relay to her..two weeks had passed and I was fed up.
I emailed her as well then I began asking about her schedule, this way I can intercept and speak to her in person. The first time it didn't work, no one seemed to know where she was but the second time I got to her. Ridiculous to say the least but I got straight to the point and told her that my training was supposed to be canceled. Explained to her what happened and went over the guidelines of cancellation.
Below are your rights to cancellation for personal training:
A.
If upon a doctors order, you cannot physically receive the services because of significant physical disability for a period in excess of six months.
B. If you die, your estate shall be relieved of any further obligation for payment under the contract not then due and owing.
C. If you move your residence more than twenty-five miles from any health club operated by seller. Member must provide one of the following documents showing the new
address; Utility bill, lease, or a drivers license.
E.
If the services cease to be offered as stated in the contract.
The trainer admitted he dropped the ball he was new and wasn't sure how things worked and apologized to me. Keelin was gunho about me buying out the remainder of my contract which i told her wasn't going to happen and somewhere in the conversation changed her cadence offered to cancel so long as I provide her with an out of state license, I told her I had one but it was expired and she said that's okay "it doesn't hurt my pockets". It took me a couple days to find but I found it and sent it to her. She then replied "I am so sorry but we can not accept anything that is expired...".
I tried jogging her memory, and she replied I told her this is what she asked for and regardless I had a contractual right to cancel (as per E) because the service was no longer provided to me when the trainer ceased any contact with me (even when I texted him about this situation - he never responded) and management made no attempt to contact me or make themselves available to be reached as proven in my attempts to reach Keelin. No one ensured I was satisfied with the service I was receiving (which i was not) or if I was receiving any service at all. Then Keelin said they have at least 10 trainers on staff and at any time she could have switched my trainer if I wasn't happy with the one I was assigned. None of this information was provided from the beginning and either way I couldn't do this without the assistance of management.
Keelin was very condescending throughout our exchange with remarks like "I am sorry that you feel that my management is impeccable. I am certain it is because you are attempting to break contract terms and demands and I am unable to allow you to do such a thing." This was after I called out the lack of service provided and unprofessional means of conflict resolution. And she even attached a picture of her receiving an award at the Retro Fitness awards gala, in case I questioned her "credibility".
At the beginning of the month I got her a doctors note (satisfying A).Now Keelin is saying that until I pay the past due balance of $689.70 which was accrued after I canceled with the trainer and after they had broken contract due to poor management, I cannot cancel the contract. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR PERSONAL TRAINING UNDER KEELIN EICHERT!!!

Verified Reviewer | Wilmington, DelawareMistreated at the gym and want to stay there drama free
Hello mr.Casaburi. My name is ali hussein and I’ve been a member at the retro location on Kirkwood Highway,Delaware since2017.
I’ve always been treated with the utmost respect and I appreciated it up until yesterday. I made my way in the gym and I believe the manager “mike”, he was sitting in the front by the blender as I approached the gym by around8:05-8:15pm(I work everyday and long hours the gym is the only hobby I can obtain) the first thing he said “you good, what’s your problem?” I told him I’m good.then he replies “you can’t come into the gym without a mask” when I entered around that time most of the gym members were not wearing masks and neither was he and a few of the workers while they were having a non elbow touch meeting.and prior to that the same “manager” just a few days before, he was working out at the gym without a mask.even though the contradiction was absurd I went and got my mask. I asked him how is that fair when most of these people aren’t wearing masks?i guess because he felt some type of entitlement or something he proceeded to look at me rudely and nasty. So I told him “ it seems like you like drama and I don’t have time for that, stop looking at me please” if you look at your cameras he approached me without following covid guidelines and came right into my face.
I said sir this is considered a threat, the only authority that can be this close to me is the cops, he moved and a lovely young female employee addressed the situation and told me don’t worry about it and I apologized to her and continued to workout. Today I get a call from another “manager” named Leah while I’m at work telling me that I’ve been revoked from the gym vouching for him about my conduct, also falsely accusing me of another problem with a former worker which she said was “ A black girl named Carey”. Then tells me to inconveniently come to retro at 1:00pm tomorrow to apologize to him for something I did not stirr.Sir I’m a working father who left nyc to live in Delaware. I’m out here to make a living and not problems.i understand they’re young and naive.
All I’m asking is they let me be to my workouts since 2017(no problems).you seem like the only person I should apologize too, for that I’m sorry if you think I’m looking for trouble at the GYM(my only sanctuary). I don’t want to press any charges, I love this gym way to much for petty misunderstandings...thank you sir and retro

Preferred solution: I want to stay at the gym and be left alone.thank you
